The first and foremost of the PTE Academic test is Speaking. This section mainly tests your ability in spoken English in academic environment. That’s the reason why you have several charts and graphs in this section.

The total time is about 30 to 35 minutes and there are 5 task types follow the sequence

1.Read aloud (6-7 items)

In this task, you have to speak a text in 40 seconds. The text is up to 60 words so you have plenty of time for this, you don’t need to rush.

2.Repeat sentence (10-12 items)

The speaker will speak a sentence about 3 to 9 seconds and you have to repeat exactly the same.

3.Describe image (6-7 items)

There is an image appears on the screen and you have to describe it in 40 seconds. You have 15 seconds to prepare.

4.Retell lecture (3-4 items)

This is one of the hardest type for those who weak in listening. You listen to a lecture up to 90 seconds and retell the lecture in 40 seconds. In order to have good score in this speaking type, you need to improve your listening and note taking skills.

5.Answer short question (10-12 items)
